On July 17, 2007, AFSCME Ohio retirees Betty Thomas, Barbara Jeffries and Marian Garth-Saffold joined Dr. Henry Barlow of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare and Norman Wernet of the Ohio Alliance for Retired Americans headlined a press conference in Cleveland, OH. They released a report compiled by the U.S.Action Education Fund showing that state taxpayers are subsidizing the insurance industry to the tune of $311 million a year.

They also called on members of Ohio’s congressional delegation to reign in this insurance industry boondoggle. Click on the links below to learn more.
