Chris Policano Joins AFSCME as Public Affairs Director

Washington, D.C. - Chris Policano has joined AFSCME as Public Affairs Director.  With more than 20 years experience in journalism and public relations, Policano is no stranger to the nation’s largest union of public service workers – from 1999 to 2002, he served as Director of Communications for AFSCME District Council 37 in New York City.

Policano has held top communications posts at the New York City Council, the United Federation of Teachers in New York City, and Phoenix House Foundation.  He also worked as a general assignment reporter for the New York Daily News and covered City Hall for the New York Post.
