The Women’s Rights Department can provide general information, publications, technical assistance with program planning and workshop leaders for AFSCME Women’s Committees. In addition, many other AFSCME departments can provide materials, films, workshop leaders and technical assistance.

Community resources
The following local organizations may be good resources for your women’s committee:
- Your AFSCME council and area office
- Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) chapter
- State labor council
- Community colleges and other adult education facilities
- College and university labor studies programs (Their services, however, are not always available without charge so it is best to check first on free programs from the International or council.)
- Community groups such as the YWCA, NOW and local women’s shelters
- Public agencies such as police agencies on crime prevention, the Area Office on Aging, child care resource and referral services, etc.
- Public libraries.
