AFSCME Retirees At Democratic Convention

Eunice Parrish, president of Houston Retiree Chapter 1550 and a longtime political activist, was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in July. She met Teresa Heinz Kerry, wife of Presidential candidate John Kerry. Mrs. Kerry addressed the convention's Senior Delegate Caucus, sponsored by the National Democratic Seniors Coordinating Council. Parrish was one of 26 AFSCME retiree-members who served as delegates or alternates to the 2004 convention. Unlike previous election years, there were no AFSCME retiree delegates to the Republican convention.
