Field Auditor III
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for conducting advanced financial audits and administrative reviews of affiliates, including the prompt issuance of reports indicating findings and recommendations. Additionally, this position regularly conducts financial standards code trainings as requested by affiliates.
- Evaluates calculations of surety bond coverage levels required for all affiliates and coordinates billing and collection with the Accounting Department.
- Develops and assists with training courses to instruct affiliate secretary-treasurers how to set up, maintain and monitor financial records and systems in accordance with the International Constitution, the Financial Standards Code, and government regulations. Conducts advanced financial workshops.
- Responds to questions from affiliates regarding tax matters and financial reporting requirements.
- Appears as witness in Judicial Panel, arbitration, and court proceedings when testimony on audit or other financial assignment as required.
- Reviews and updates content and language of reports and notices to affiliates to maintain compliance with government regulations and the International's guidelines.
- Evaluates and recommends accounting and business administration software that impacts on administrative system solutions.
- Assist in the development of audit program checklists and scope of planning documents.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education and Experience
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with course work in accounting or auditing and a minimum of seven (7) years of work experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Skills Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge of forensic auditing and accounting practices and principles, and appropriate reporting requirements of financial statements.
- Thorough knowledge of appropriate reporting requirements for financial statements.
- Thorough knowledge of business and financial systems software and computer applications.
- Ability to collect, analyze and compare financial data and identify anomalies.
- Ability to conduct financial training and develop curriculum.
- Skill in the use of personal computers and associated business and financial software.
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite with a concentration in Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Travel & Work hours
- Extensive travel and extended work hours including weekend is required.
- Driver's license is required.
