PEOPLE Fundraising Data Technician
This position serves as the Political Action department’s lead on data for incoming PEOPLE contributions as well as providing key administrative support, under the direction of the Assistant Director - Fundraising. The position requires advanced-level database, clerical and administrative skills.
Duties:
- Maintain accurate PAC records, including working closely with the Data & Analytics and Accounting Departments on creating and maintaining accurate records in EveryAction and for use with FEC reporting. This includes coordinating with other departments, Political Action staff, and affiliates to troubleshoot questions and address data challenges/issues.
- Responsible for reviewing and compiling monthly receipts and contribution reports for distribution to executive office and producing other fundraising reports as requested.
- Accurately enters contribution data into databases.
- Reviews and compares data reports to ensure accuracy.
- Liaison between other departments and Political Action staff to troubleshoot data issues and collect missing data.
- Work directly with affiliates and employers on submission of PEOPLE contribution data.
- Works on other short and long-term PEOPLE data-related projects as assigned.
- Coordinate PEOPLE staff travel, prepare and send PEOPLE materials for affiliate events and conventions, and assist with PEOPLE fundraising campaign activities.
- Maintain, update, manipulate, and process transactions and records for PEOPLE contributions and fundraising-related expenditures in AFSCME’s disbursement databases.
- Create and maintain detailed budget/expenditure reports and schedules related to PEOPLE sales.
- Create and edit written materials for fundraising and other purposes.
- Prepare and review non-standard letters, memoranda, and correspondence from draft to final form.
- Obtain and place orders for PEOPLE merchandise and materials.
- Assist with daily routine requests and long-term special projects.
- Serves as primary administrative support for the Assistant Director - Fundraising and team.
- Responsible for all administrative tasks associated with the PEOPLE program.
- May serve as backup to department’s administrative assistant as needed.
- May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education and Experience
Graduation from an accredited two-year college with an associate degree in Political Science, Finance, Business Administration or other relevant degree program and a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Skills Requirements:
- Knowledge of the political and legislative processes.
- Knowledge of campaign compliance and reporting processes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to exchange vital information with affiliates and staff.
- Strong data-entry, database management and data analysis skills. Experience with EveryAction preferred but not required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize assignments, work independently, and meet rigorous deadlines.
- A high degree of organizational skills, time management, accuracy, attention to detail and workflow output.
- Strong technical and computer skills with a high level of proficiency in MS Office Suite – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Strong ability to proofread documents and compose correspondence.
