WHEREAS:

AFSCME is a union dedicated to the betterment of our country; and

WHEREAS:

In the past this dedication has demonstrated an enthusiastic response by the membership when called upon; and

WHEREAS:

We Americans have taken it upon ourselves to restore the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:

That the AFSCME membership join the rest of the nation in contributing its money to bring these two historic monuments back to their original conditions; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:

That only Union Labor be used in restoring these monuments; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:

That this International Convention of AFSCME delegates voice its support and endorsement of the restoration.
