Summer Schools for Union Women

Resolution No. 84
26th International Convention
June 18-22, 1984
San Francisco, CA

For eight years the University and College Labor Education Association, the AFL-CIO and the Coalition of Labor Union Women have sponsored Regional Summer Schools for Union Women; and

The Summer Schools for Union Women provide a unique opportunity for union women to obtain valuable training and share experiences with sisters in the union movement. The summer schools encourage union women to develop as leaders and participate in their unions to the benefit of the labor movement; and

AFSCME women have always participated in the summer schools for union women as participants and instructors and found them to be valuable union education programs.

That AFSCME councils and locals encourage the participation of women members in the summer schools for union women through promotion of the schools and, wherever possible, financial assistance which will enable AFSCME women to attend.
