WHEREAS:

Teenage suicide has become a growing problem in the United States; and

WHEREAS:

One teenage suicide often results in more suicide attempts among peers; and

WHEREAS:

Teenage suicide affects one of the most important resources of our country-our youth; and

WHEREAS:

Teenage suicide has a destructive effect on the family structure.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:

That AFSCME International, through its affiliates, encourage creating peer support systems throughout our school system.
