WHEREAS:

The Public Service International (PSI) is an international confederation of public sector unions; and

WHEREAS:

International contacts between public sector unions lead to greater understanding of mutual problems and appropriate solutions to deal with them; and

WHEREAS:

International contacts between public sector unions throughout the world lead to a better grasp of cultural, social, political and economic differences and similarities between governments, nations, societies and unions; and this exposure and interaction foster a better climate of mutual respect, trust and world peace.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:

That the 28th International Convention of AFSCME support continued international exchanges between AFSCME and members of PSI; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:

That more AFSCME councils and locals across the nation be exposed to these exchanges.
