WHEREAS:
The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees is about to lose the valued counsel of five outstanding leaders; and
WHEREAS:
Their accomplishments for the union have included winning statewide collective bargaining laws for public employees, paving the way for women in leadership, and organizing thousands of members; and
WHEREAS:
Their aggregate of 135 years of activism in AFSCME included serving with distinction as International Vice Presidents.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
That the delegates to the 30th Biennial International Convention of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees pay special tribute to:
- Brother Joe Bolt, who served as International Vice President for the Central District;
- Brother Robert A. Brindza, who served as International Vice President for the Ohio District;
- Brother Joseph J. Kreuser, who served as International Vice President for the Wisconsin District; and
- Sister Faye Krohn, who served as International Vice President for the North Central District; and
- Brother Thomas Rapanotti, who served as International Vice President for the Eastern District.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
That this Convention, in behalf of all the Union's 1.3 million members, expresses its affection and gratitude to these retiring officers; and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED:
That the best wishes of the union accompany them in the years to come.
