Get Involved to Win

WHEREAS:
Politics affects us all, which is why public and private employees need to get involved; and

WHEREAS:
All members need to work for AFSCME-endorsed candidates to get them in office; and

WHEREAS:
Tough economic times are upon us with the loss of jobs, rising costs of energy, health care crisis, foreign policy erosion, environmental problems, and a domestic policy with no solution; and

WHEREAS:
AFSCME needs to get the right people in office this year in order for our jobs and communities to survive in this country.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
AFSCME will encourage its members to get involved with election campaigns of AFSCME- endorsed candidates at all levels, but especially by electing Senator Barack Obama for President who will make a difference in changing the direction of our country; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
AFSCME will encourage its members at all levels of the Union to be involved and vote in elections.
