WHEREAS:
AFSCME Local 1598, Bucks County Pennsylvania Public Employees, was organized in the year 1958 with two original units: Bensalem Township and Falls Township Water and Sewer Authority; and

WHEREAS:
Local 1598 in the year 1958 started with only two units and less than 75 members; and

WHEREAS:
Local 1598, under the leadership of only three presidents; Frank Flatch, Jeanne McLaughlin and Linda Vuono, has expanded to more than 18 units representing more than 1,500 employees; and

WHEREAS:
Local 1598 is of a diversified nature made up of county, borough, township, school district and authority employees; and

WHEREAS:
Local 1598 celebrated its 50th anniversary on October 6, 2008.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
That the delegates to the 39th International Convention of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees go on record as supporting the leadership and members, past and present, of AFSCME Local 1598 on their golden anniversary.
