WHEREAS:
Sister Catherine Collette has served AFSCME with skill, vision and commitment since she began her service to our great union as a member, activist and President of AFSCME Local 2885/Council 94.
WHEREAS:
Sister Collette continued to serve AFSCME in multiple capacities for 25 years until retiring as Director of AFSCME's Women's Rights Department; and
WHEREAS:
Sister Collette's work has placed our union on the frontlines of the battle for dignity, justice and equality, including the fight for pay equity and against domestic violence, boosting the lives and improving the futures of working women everywhere; and
WHEREAS:
Sister Collette's work has set an example for trade unionists everywhere, and her vision, dedication and fighting spirit will guide all of the future efforts this union makes on behalf of working women.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
That the International Executive Board extends to Sister Collette its deepest gratitude. and congratulations for consistently going above the call of duty. Together, with AFSCME's hardworking 1.3 million members, Sister Collette is wished an enjoyable and well-deserved retirement.
