Thomas Rapanotti

International Executive Board, 1992

Brother Thomas Rapanotti, International Vice President for the Capitol District, has dedicated his life to the cause of working people, as a rank and filer and officer in the United Mine Workers and the United Auto Workers, and since the late 1960s as a staffer and leader of AFSCME in Maryland;

Brother Rapanotti served with distinction as the first director of Maryland Council 27, and later rose through Council 67 to become its Director, guiding the struggle of Maryland's state and local employees to win their fair share of dignity and respect;

That the International Executive Board, speaking in behalf of all the union's 1.3 million members, extends its gratitude to its retiring colleagues and offers Brother Rapanotti best wishes and happiness in the future years.
