Annie Radakovits of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, signed her union card in 2002 and has continuously built a record of dedicated leadership and service to her union and fellow members ever since.
Radakovits serves as president of AFSCME Local 1979 (Council 13), representing inspectors and investigators in the Lehigh Valley and Berks regions. Throughout her union career, Annie has served as a shop steward, local secretary, treasurer and executive vice president representing the former District Council 88.
Her service to AFSCME extends through her work on the Council 13 Women’s Committee, Finance Committee, Constitution Committee, Advisory Board, and through political activism. Outside of AFSCME, Annie serves as the recording secretary of the Lehigh Valley Labor Council and as a board member of TeenWorks, which is part of the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley.
A graduate of AFSCME International’s Women’s Leadership Academy and a certified Leadership and Union Training Institute (LUTI) trainer, Radakovits has dedicated herself to developing future union leaders and strengthening our union at every level.
