AFSCME unveils website to strengthen Staff the Front Lines initiative

States, cities and towns across the country have yet to recover from the massive staffing shortages brought on by the pandemic in state and local governments. Watch a video of AFSCME President Lee Saunders to learn more about a new initiative our union is launching to help solve this crisis: Staff the Front Lines. 

“We take pride in strengthening our communities, but we need help,” Saunders says in the video, which can be found on a new Staff the Front Lines website our union launched this week. “During the pandemic, at a moment of crisis for the nation, public service workers answered the call and stood on the front lines. Now it’s time to staff the front lines.”
