Secretary of Labor Martin Walsh met with living figures from history when he visited AFSCME Local 1733 on May 6. He delved deep into the history of this historic labor union, its role in the civil rights movement, and how the labor and civil rights movements continue to be intertwined. He met with workers from the 1968 Sanitation Workers’ Strike. And he spoke about the challenges and opportunities facing the labor movement today.
