Saunders: We are proud to honor those in law enforcement for their dedication, service and sacrifice

AFSCME President Lee Saunders released the following statement recognizing National Law Enforcement Week activities, which are happening May 11-17, 2022:

“Whether we’re on our commute to work, enjoying a day in the park, attending a local festival or just out in the neighborhood with family, those in law enforcement are always in the background, working hard to keep our communities safe. This week, we honor those working in law enforcement — not just for being there in times of crisis, but for being there every day, doing the work necessary to keep our communities running. On Friday, May 13, we will gather on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. for the 34th annual candlelight vigil memorializing the officers lost in the line of duty. AFSCME is proud to stand with those in uniform as we honor the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice for our communities.”
