AFSCME President Patrick Moran: AFSCME members have been organizing around the clock to get our members to the polls to elect the new pro-worker Senate majority

WASHINGTON – AFSCME President Patrick Moran released the following statement on the new pro-worker Senate majority:

“AFSCME members are proud to celebrate a new, pro-worker Senate majority. For too long, anti-worker extremists in the Senate either ignored or worsened the cost-of-living crisis that’s forcing working people to make impossible choices. Though working people were struggling to make ends meet, this Congress was rewarding its billionaire donors while cutting healthcare and essential services that families rely on.

“AFSCME members have been organizing around the clock to get our members, families, and communities to the polls to elect this new majority. We held town halls, wrote letters, made phone calls, and knocked on doors to organize our members and elect a pro-worker majority to the U.S. Senate. Now, alongside a new pro-worker majority in the House of Representatives, it is time to deliver real progress on lowering costs and giving more workers the freedom to join a union. AFSCME members will continue organizing to deliver the change working families deserve.”
