A third generation public employee, Spink began his public career as a child protection social worker in 2003. He served as a steward, local officer and then president of Wisconsin’s Local 2748, Professional Social Services unit. He served two terms on the national Next Wave Advisory Committee before being elected as the first president of the newly unified Council 32, AFSCME Wisconsin at the Founding Convention in 2015. Spink was elected as an International vice president at the 42nd International Convention in 2016.
