AFSCME’s Saunders: Julie Su proves once again that she is tremendously qualified to be the next Secretary of Labor

AFSCME President Lee Saunders released the following statement after Acting U.S. Secretary of Labor Julie Su successfully facilitated a tentative agreement between leaders of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and the Pacific Maritime Association:

“Julie Su is tremendously qualified to be the next Secretary of Labor, and this agreement proves it yet again. Thanks to her efforts, shippers and West Coast dockworkers came back to the table to hammer out a deal that will keep our supply chain running while respecting the workers who make it all happen. This is the type of bridge-building we need in the Department of Labor. It’s time for the Senate to act quickly and approve Julie Su’s nomination to be Secretary of Labor.”
