Behavioral health worker in Pennsylvania is Never Quit Service Award winner

Alicia Craig is a case manager at Human Services Center in New Castle, Penn.

She works with children and adults, guiding them toward the services they need and monitoring those services to make sure they’re being provided correctly and appropriately. She’s out in the community, in the schools and in doctors’ offices, interacting with clients one on one.

“I first started in intellectual disabilities because I had a brother who had an intellectual disability,” Craig says. “I thought that was a pretty cool way to give back to the community because he’d gotten so many services.”

Charl Cox, a co-worker, says Craig is always looking out for others in the community.

“Alicia tends to really put everybody ahead of herself,” Cox says. “She is what everybody aspires to be. She is a big sister, she is just an overall good human. You can’t get better.”

For her service to her community, Craig is a winner of AFSCME’s Never Quit Service Award, which honors public service workers who go above and beyond the call of duty to make their communities better.
